Plot Summary
Set four years after the traumatic events of the original film, Black Phone 2 finds siblings Finney Blake (Mason Thames), now 17, and Gwen Blake (Madeleine McGraw), now 15, still grappling with the psychological fallout of their encounter with The Grabber.
Finney remains haunted by the past, while Gwen's psychic dreams, which aided in solving the original murders, intensify and become more disturbing. Her visions begin to focus on a series of historical disappearances at a remote, snowy Christian youth camp called Alpine Lake Camp in 1957.
Convinced that The Grabber's evil originated at this location and is inextricably linked to their family’s history (including revelations about their late mother), Gwen persuades Finney to travel to Alpine Lake during a brutal winter storm. Stranded at the isolated camp, the black phone—which Finney destroyed—rings again.
The voice on the other end belongs to The Grabber (Ethan Hawke), who has returned as a powerful supernatural entity from beyond the grave, blaming Finney for his death and vowing vengeance. The siblings must now confront a more dangerous, ethereal version of their tormentor, one who can manifest and attack Gwen in her dreams, making the terrifying link between the afterlife and reality stronger than ever. To defeat him and free the trapped souls of his victims, Finney and Gwen must uncover the camp's dark history and put The Grabber's earliest victims finally to rest.
